I told an NHL legend I play this...

Hey Reader -

Let me share a quick airport moment that made me laugh.

I bumped into NHL Hall of Famer Ray Bourque at the airport.

We chatted for a minute while waiting to board.

At one point he asked me, “Where are you headed?”

I said, “Toronto.”

He nodded.

Then I added, “I’m going to meet my coach.”

That’s when he turned and hit me with the most hockey-player question ever.

“What do you play?”

And I said, “Business.”

We both cracked up.

Because in his world, “coach” automatically means skates, pads, and a locker room speech.

But after the laugh, it actually stuck with me.

Ray Bourque didn’t become Ray Bourque by accident.

Somewhere way back, there was a first coach.

Someone who taught the basics.

Someone who saw potential early.

Someone who helped shape the path that eventually led to the NHL, the Hall of Fame… the whole legacy.

And it reminded me of something simple.

It’s not weird to have a coach.

It’s weird to think you don’t need one.

Especially when what you’re “playing” is your business, your income, your future, and your family’s stability.

Different arena.

Same truth.

The best performers don’t wing it.

They get coached.

And here’s a good question Ray Bourque accidentally left me with that day…

What do you play?

Talk with ya tomorrow,
